Charlie Loving, Artist of the Month

The Camp Wood Public Library artist of the month is Charlie Loving. Charlie and his wife Rea Freeman live in Roaring Springs between Camp Wood and Leakey.

He was born in Hendon, England in 1941. His father was a bomber pilot. His mother was French. Charlie grew up in Frankfurt, Germany, and Switzerland. He moved to Round Rock, Texas in 1957. He has lived in Lubbock, Hawaii, Japan, Austin, Chicago, Shreveport, San Antonio, Mexico, Peru, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Camp Wood.

Charlie is a lifelong spelunker and cave explorer. cartoonist, and painter of water colors.  He drew cartoons for Stars and Stripes, Army Times, Plane Talk, political cartoons for newspapers, and underground comic books.  He has produced art for over forty training videos on fatherhood and childcare.
