May Artist - Amari De La Cruz
At just seven years old, Amari De La Cruz, has already developed a deep love for the art that began when he was four years old. Inspired by time spent drawing and coloring with his grandmother Lorrie Sweeten who was an artist herself, he quickly showed a natural talent and passion for creativity. Although she is no longer with him, her influence continues to live on through his work. Now a first- grade student in Knippa, Amari continues to grow as an artist, creating pieces that reflect his imagination and his kind humble spirit. His family is incredibly proud of the dedication and joy he brings to everything he creates. While art seems to be his main passion, Amari also enjoys playing sports such as baseball, soccer and track. Amari and his mother, Sky De La Cruz who is a Nurse Practitioner, live in Uvalde and often come to the Canyon to visit his Grandfather, Lee Sweeten.
