The Camp Wood library recently added these new titles for young readers:

Dog Man: Big Jim Believes by Dave Pilkey focuses on the return of the mischievous Space Cuties from Space.  Dog Man, Commander Cupcake, and Sprinkles, along with Mecha Molly, discover that the city has changed, and nothing is how it should be.  Can Big Jim’s positivity and innocence help our heroes?  Will our caped crusaders have the courage to trust each other and save the day?  How does the past help shape the future?  And who is the chosen one?

Wrong Friend by Charise Mericle Harper tells about what happens when your BFF is no longer forever.  Charise and Casey have been best friends for years. It never mattered that Casey was older by two years―until she started high school. Now, the two barely talk, and Charise is on a mission to get a new best friend. But can she find that perfect person while navigating long-distance friendships, guinea pig allergies, and the embarrassing quirks of her family?

Partypooper, the latest book in Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, is the tale Greg’s birthday—and you’re invited to the chaos!  Greg Heffley is planning the ultimate party—for himself.  But when the guest list grows, the decorations flop, and the surprises backfire, this birthday bash turns into a total blowout—just not the kind Greg had in mind.

Death by Whoopee Cushion by Vicki Grant is an exciting mystery.  The best Halloween costumes.  The funniest pranks.  An endless supply of chocolate fudge that looks exactly like dog poo. Most kids would love it if their parents owned a joke shop.  But twelve-year-old Manya isn't like most kids.  She’s an aspiring scientist.  The cheap laughs at her parents’ shop don’t interest her – but the science behind the pranks does.  After all, even edible snot and stink bombs rely on chemical reactions.  When a whoopee cushion kills an innocent person, the joke is over.  The cops swoop in and arrest Manya’s parents for murder, and it's up to Manya now to prove their innocence.  Suddenly, the science behind all those embarrassing pranks becomes very important indeed.
